These young soldiers did a wonderful thing, coming from so far away to help support a great cause. They did a great job! We enjoyed the day out at the site and our hat is off to all of you as we hold our hand over our heart and pray that Gods keeps you all safe and our memorials out of the ACLU'S hands.

I would like to thank each and every HERO personally for risking their lives to ensure my freedom. I think it is a shame that ONE individual, with the presumption that he may/may not make a trip to that state and may/may not pass in front of that cross, can make the US Supreme court do something so stupid. I can not believe that a judge, in his/her right mind would even allow this to go as far as it has. Do they not have anything better to do? Do they not have family or friends that have served/is serving in the US military? I sure hope their family/friends are giving them a "what for". I, too, am a Catholic, and I find it offensive to not have a memorial cross to remind us of all those that have given their lives for us. I also find it truly unbelievable that this so ONE called Catholic would be offended by seeing a cross resurrected as a memorial for all those that gave him the freedom to act upon this foolishness.
I sure wish we knew the name of this person so we could send this him/her a letter along with a bunch of crosses to put in his "Catholic" yard.

If it weren't for the gift of life given by the military this monument was dedicated to honor the ACLU wouldn't have the right to exist. I am a mother of a decorated MP and I think these young men did a honor to their comrades and all the military members who have died so we can live in freedom. Thank you for your service and courage.

Kudos to those fine young warriors. Your efforts are appreciated by more families than you'll ever realize. Your mission was over - you were free to go home - and you took precious time out of your personal lives to remember the fallen. Your selfless actions will not be soon forgotten by this Gold Star Mom. My son was lost in Iraq on June 4, 2006, and the most important thing to me is that people REMEMBER. I think it's a total disgrace that anyone would want to destroy such a monument.

It seems to me that the ACLU is on the wrong side! What about the Civil Liberties of our Fallen Hero's? Isn't that why the memorial was erected in the first place? Our military service people WILL be honored, AND remembered!

This is not in response to any comments previously posted. I just wonder why anyone would question this memorial when we have references to God everywhere in our government. On buildings, on our currency, our National Cathedral, our Pledge of Allegiance... everywhere. Who does it harm? Let anyone from any religion put up a memorial - they are all in honor of the same Being, no matter what name we give Him/Her. It's all in honor of a Supreme Being and if you don't believe in such a Being - you don't have to pray to It. You're free to ignore It. That's the beauty of our country - we're free to do as we wish. Leave the cross alone - honor our heroes...
